ABOUT THE FOUNDER

A global citizen, Michelle is a member of a prominent Asia-based political family, and is a New York entrepreneur/restaurateur and philanthropist. She co-founded Maison Hugo, a highly regarded French restaurant in the Upper Eastside,and established EVENTBYHUGO, a leading event planning business that incorporates sustainability principles. Michelle has co-hosted events with members of the international diplomatic community and world political leaders.

In previous years, Michelle worked for the Italian Trade Commission, a government agency based in New York City where she led teams with a mission to promote Italian businesses in the United States. Michelle has also played a critical role managing the multimillion-dollar property investments for the prominent Saudi investment company, Sedco Holdings.

Michelle is a long-time member of the Women’s International Forum. “WIF” an invitation only non-profit organization associated with the United Nations. WIF’s mission is to provide a forum for briefings and discussions on current international affairs.

Michelle is also a trusted advisor to several non-profit organizations that help advance economic justice for women and provide access to sustainable resources. She advocates for food security both in the US and in developing nations and collaborates with organizations in the private sector to develop initiatives with a common philanthropic purpose.
